Who is Salted Shiba?

Hi! I'm Anna, the founder of Salted Shiba. We're a very small brand making bandanas for dogs and cats. I make every piece by hand, with lots of love — for dogs, cats, and the people who adore them.

Meet Khlepp and Our Cats

At the heart of Salted Shiba is my Shiba Inu, Khlepp (or Khlebushek, as we call him at home). He's playful, smart, endlessly charismatic, and the main source of inspiration for everything I create.

Together with our three cats — Simba, Blanca, and Sardine — we test every new design before it reaches our shop. If a piece doesn't pass our strict (and very furry) quality control, you'll never see it there.

Why “Salted Shiba”?

We live near the Atlantic Ocean, where long walks along the coast are part of our everyday life. The salty sea breeze has become part of Khlepp's story — and, over time, part of our brand's story too. That's how Salted Shiba was born.

Why Bandanas?

Dogs and cats are already perfect just the way they are. Besides, Khlepp has a very thick coat, winters here aren't particularly cold, and summers can get quite hot. A bandana is simply a comfortable way to add a little personality without bothering your dog.

Our designs are comfortable for walks, don't restrict movement, help keep your dog's chest clean after drinking water, and look just as good at the beach as they do at your favorite café. The bandanas are easy to put on and take off, barely noticeable to your dog — but hard for everyone else to miss.

I experimented with several patterns before creating the one we use today — a design that fits comfortably, doesn't bother your dog, won't curl up, fold over, or slip out of place, and lets each of our beautiful prints shine in all their glory.

Made with Beautiful Fabrics

Each bandana is made from carefully selected cotton. We love these fabrics because they hold their shape beautifully, are easy to wash, hardly wrinkle, resist fading, and stay looking great for years.

Every print tells its own little story. Some remind us of mornings by the sea, others of cozy autumn days, blooming gardens, or lazy weekends. Choose the one that matches your dog's mood — or your own.

Two Bandanas in One

All Salted Shiba bandanas are fully reversible. One side is usually bright and playful. The other is more understated, with coordinating patterns like stripes, checks, polka dots, or a solid color when the main print already has plenty of personality. It's like having two different looks in one accessory.

Handmade, One at a Time

Every bandana is individually handmade. Some designs are available in just one or two pieces and will never be made again. This means your pet could have a bandana that no other pet in the world will ever have!

Our fabric label is hand-sewn with just a few stitches. If you prefer your bandana without a label, it's very easy to remove.

Every order is carefully prepared before making its way to you. We try to send not just bandanas, but also a little genuine love from our hands and paws.
